A heads up to anyone without a driver’s license – that also covers lawn tractors and snow blowers.

Police stopped David Hicks, 43, of Tiffin, on Monday after observing him driving a John Deere lawn and garden tractor with a snow blower on the front on East Jefferson Street in Iowa City.

The officer says he had already checked the driving status of Hicks when he saw him pull off the road into a private drive near Governor Street a little before 4 p.m. Police say Hicks has a restricted license after an OWI test failure and can only drive if he has the proper paperwork, which he did not.

Hicks is charged with Driving While License is Revoked, a serious misdemeanor carrying up to one year in jail.
