A car fire backed up traffic near West Branch Saturday night.
Dispatch records indicate the West Branch Fire Department was called to westbound Interstate 80 just west of the West Branch exit just after 8:30 p.m. The burning vehicle was partially blocking the right lane, leading to traffic tie-ups and a traffic alert from the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The fire was extinguished and traffic returned to normal just after 9:00. There were no reports of injuries.
