A body found in the Iowa River Thursday morning is believed to be that of a missing Coralville woman.
According to a news release from the Coralville Police Department, Iowa City Police recovered a body from the river near Rocky Shore Drive at approximately 9:45am. The body is believed to be that of 60-year-old Kathryn Ironside, who was reported missing on Saturday.
Ironside was last seen near her residence in the 200 block of East 9th Street. Police believe she would have been on foot.
Coralville Police say identity confirmation of the body found in the river is the responsibility of the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office and may take several days.
