A Lone Tree man with a history of domestic assault was arrested Sunday after allegedly committing the crime once again.

Police say 30-year-old Daniel Thomas of Wapsi Lane and his live-in partner were in an argument about money around 9am. Thomas is accused of trying to take money from the woman’s wallet, but she would not allow him to.

The two attempted to gain control of the wallet, and Thomas reportedly pushed the woman away. One of the children they share together was on scene, witnessed the event and called 9-1-1.

The woman reportedly had red marks on her neck from the incident.

Thomas has previous domestic abuse convictions in Iowa and Virginia. He was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd or subsequent offense, a Class D felony punishable by a maximum sentence of five years if convicted.
