Iowa City Animal Services officials are trying to locate the owner of a dog which bit a person on the far west side of the University of Iowa campus.

Officials say the incident took place about 9:40 a.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Hawkeye Court, near the Aspire Apartments. The victim was trying to catch a bus when the dog bit him on his leg.

The dog is described as a smaller dog with long, light brown hair. The person with the dog at the time was a bald white male with a beard and standing about six-feet two-inches tall.

Animal Services would like to find out the rabies vaccination status of the dog. Anyone with information about the owner of the dog is asked to contact them at 356-5295 or Iowa City Police at 356-6800.
