Another All-Big Ten team, another appearance by Josey Jewell and Josh Jackson.

The Hawkeye defenders on Wednesday were named first team all conference by the Associated Press. Jewell was also named the AP’s Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, marking the second such honor for the senior. The conference itself also named Jewell the Defensive Player of the Year.

Jewell finished off his Iowa career with 125 tackles, third most in the nation. He’s already won the Jack Lambert Award and is a finalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and Senior CLASS Award.

Jackson, a junior, is tied for the national lead with seven interceptions and is alone in first with 25 passes defended. He’s a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

Also on Wednesday, the AP named Iowa offensive lineman Sean Welsh as second team All-Big Ten.

The Hawkeyes wrap up the 2017 season by playing Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27.
