Iowa City officials are asking for help in identifying the owners of dogs involved in a fight on the far west side which left one person bitten.

Animal Services officials are seeking the owners of a white Labrador Retriever and a German Shepherd. No further description of either dog has been provided.

Officials say the bite victim was on Alder Court near the University of Iowa’s cross country course on Tuesday when the two dogs began fighting about 2 p.m. When the man intervened, he says he received a bite on the middle finger.

He said two juvenile males were with the dogs at the time.

City officials are seeking rabies vaccination information for each dog. Anyone with information on the owners of either dog is encouraged to contact Animal Services at 356-5295 or IC Police at 356-6800.
