Coralville man arrested, then allegedly propositions oral sex from ICPD officer
Iowa City Police say a Coralville man arrested for Public Intoxication allegedly propositioned oral sex from the arresting officer.
Police were dispatched to the area of Lucas Street and Iowa Avenue just before 8:45 Sunday night for an intoxicated subject who broke a bottle in the street and was trying to get into vehicles. Officers located the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Michael Cooper of Holiday Road. Cooper allegedly smelled of ingested alcohol, showed multiple signs of intoxication and had a hard time with useful communication.
Police say they tried to arrange a ride home for Cooper, but he became belligerent and verbally abusive. His blood alcohol concentration was measured at .207, and he was arrested for Public Intoxication. At one point during the arrest Cooper allegedly suggested the officer give him oral sex, telling him he bet he would “like it”. When asked how much he’d had to drink, Cooper replied, “A lot”.
Cooper has multiple previous Public Intoxication convictions.
