It’s becoming a Christmas Eve tradition: Local transient James Anthony Klinkenberg getting arrested for fighting at Iowa City’s wet shelter.

Iowa City Police were called to the South Clinton Street shelter just before 7:45pm on Christmas Eve for two subjects fighting. Staff at the shelter identified the 42-year-old Klinkenberg as the main aggressor and asked that he be removed. He was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Klinkenberg was arrested on the same charge the night of Christmas Eve last year, also for fighting with another transient. He has been removed from the shelter on several other occasions in recent years for similar actions.
