Seven cited for being underage in IC bars

Iowa City Police conducted bar checks downtown Thursday and early Friday morning, citing seven people for being in a bar while underage.
Online records show four of those cited were at The Summit on South Clinton Street, with the other three coming at The Sports Column on South Dubuque Street.
The city’s 21 ordinance, passed in 2007, keeps 19- and 20-year-olds out of bars after 10pm.
Presence on Premises After Hours is a simple misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250.
