A Coralville teen faces burglary and assault charges after an alleged incident at a home on Iowa City’s Taylor Drive.

Police say Quentin Hitchcock, 17, of Oakleaf Street, arrived unannounced at the home about 5:20 p.m. Jan. 18. When a resident told him to leave and said he wasn’t welcome in the home, he allegedly ignored that request and began assaulting the woman.

The assault, police say, included punching the woman in the mouth, causing a cut and pain to her jaw.

Hitchcock was taken into custody on Monday on charges of 1st Degree Burglary and Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 26 years in prison. Police note in the arrest report, due to his age, Hitchcock will be held “sight and sound separate” from adult offenders.
