How do you follow up a frantic comeback, winning on a buzzer-beating three after trailing by 15 points with less than four minutes left? The 21st-ranked Iowa men’s basketball team will find out when it travels to Rutgers on Saturday.

The Hawkeyes continue to hang around the Big Ten title race thanks to that stunning win over Northwestern on Sunday, a team Rutgers beat with a second-half comeback, as well, on Wednesday. The Scarlet Knights are a somewhat surprising 5-9 in conference, alternating three-game win and loss streaks prior to the win over Northwestern.

“They have depth,” Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery said of the improved Rutgers program. “They have the ability to overcome one guy having an off night; somebody else can step up. They have that kind of team. They’ve got a really good guard and they’ve got a really good front-court guy. They’ve got a core group of young bigs that are really big.”

Once again, pace could dictate the outcome, with Iowa averaging 14 points per game more than Rutgers.

Saturday’s game tips off at 5 p.m. on FS1.
