Body found inside burning car on Gilbert Court

A body was found inside a burning car on Gilbert Court Monday night.
Iowa City Police and firefighters were called to the parking lot of 1213 Gilbert Court, the former site of The Crowded Closet, as 10:49pm for a report of an occupied vehicle on fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and confirmed that the vehicle was occupied. The subject inside the vehicle was dead. ICPD investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the incident to determine the circumstances, including whether a crime occurred. As this is an ongoing investigation, no other information has been made available for release.
