Allegedly attacking her domestic partner twice in one night has led to a Coralville woman’s arrest.

The first incident happened at the Iowa Lodge on the Coralville Strip. Coralville Police were called to the scene at 8pm Friday for a subject who had passed out. An investigation determined that the alleged victim had been assaulted by 22-year-old Ebonie Jones of Boston Way. Jones had allegedly forcibly bent the woman over the second-floor balcony and asked her if she wanted to die. She then allegedly pulled the woman’s jacket back so hard that the woman was unable to breathe. A witness finally separated the two.

A few hours later, just after 11:30pm, Iowa City Police were called to an apartment on Petsel Place where Jones had again allegedly attacked her domestic partner. According to arrest records, Jones had bitten and hit the woman outside the apartment. The woman was able to flee inside and shut the door, but Jones kicked and banged on the door until the woman opened it. Jones then forced her way inside and continued the attack, causing unspecified injuries.

Jones was taken into custody just before midnight back at the Iowa Lodge. She charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Airflow and Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury. If convicted of all three charges, she faces a maximum of 28 years in prison.
