A man convicted in multiple Iowa City robberies has been arrested again on a parole violation.

25-year-old Brandon Monroe was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 3pm Thursday. He and three other men were charged in connection with a series of Iowa City robberies in 2014. The robberies were reported at 1225 South Gilbert Street, the intersection of Bowery Street and Lucas Street and Wal-Mart on Highway 1 West.

Monroe and his accomplices were all charged with three counts of 1st Degree Robbery after police pulled over a vehicle with Monroe and his accomplices inside. A search turned up several of the reported stolen items, and witnesses identified the four in a police lineup.

Monroe reached a plea deal with prosecutors, and the charges were reduced to 1st Degree Theft and Going Armed with Intent. He was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Police now say Monroe failed to maintain contact with his parole officer, and attempts to contact him at his listed address and phone number failed. At the time of his initial arrest, he listed his residence as the Pheasant Ridge Apartments on Bartelt Road.
