A basketball team featuring former Hawkeyes Nicholas Baer and Peter Jok is looking for support.
The team, known as Iowa United, also features former Northern Iowa Panther Wes Washpun,, former Iowa State Cyclones Marcus Fizer and Tyrus McGee as well as former Drake players.
The group hopes to compete in The Tournament, a 64-team single elimination tournament in which the winners receive $2 million. Fans can go to The Tournament’s web site, thetournament.com, create an account and pledge their support for their favorite team. The teams with the most support fill out the 64-team bracket. Top supporters can earn a portion of the prize money.
Voting ends June 1st.
The games will air on ESPN in July and August.
