Kalona man arrested after alleged Court Street parking ramp rampage

Allegedly going on a rampage at the Court Street parking ramp early Saturday morning has led to the arrest of a Kalona man.
Iowa City Police responded to the ramp just before 4am after a caller reported a man screaming and trying to destroy a bike. Arriving officers determined that 22-year-old Gabriel Miecznikowski of West 2nd Street had damaged bicycles and broken into a car and caused damage to its interior and exterior. He then allegedly climbed over a fence and entered a construction site.
Damage to the car window is estimated at $400, with more damage to the rest of the car.
Police say Miecznikowski showed multiple signs of intoxication and gave a blood alcohol concentration of .188 on a portable Breathalyzer test.
Miecznikowski is charged with 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, Public Intoxication and 1st Offense Trespassing. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over seven years in prison.
