Sheriff Pulkrabek not seeking re-election

Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek says he won’t seek re-election in 2020.
Pulkrabek made the announcement in a news release and on his Facebook page Wednesday. He says he never planned to hold the office as what he termed “a lifetime commitment”, deciding that 16 years in the office was enough.
Pulkrabek has been with the sheriff’s office since 1985, and was elected sheriff in 2004. His final day in the office will be in December 2020.
