Fleet Farm to build location in Tiffin

A store with inventory ranging from outdoor equipment and farm supplies to auto parts and home goods will be opening a new location locally.
The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that Fleet Farm is expected to break ground this month near the Forevergreen Road interchange on I-380 in Tiffin.
It will be the first big box store in the Park Place development and will feature a car wash and gas station.
The 185,000 square foot building was supposed to have been already under construction, but the retailer delayed groundbreaking, partly because of bad weather.
Fleet Farm has over six dozen stores across the Midwest, including three stores in Iowa. They originally started in 1955 by the Mills family. A similar store, Farm & Fleet, was also founded at the same time by family friends of the Mills. The two families agreed to use similar names but are not the same company, and have historically kept their locations out of each other’s territories. Blain’s Farm and Fleet has stores in Davenport and Moline.
Fleet Farm is currently working to nearly double its store presence over the next four years, and has projects under construction in Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls.
