A North Liberty man has been arrested on a warrant stemming from a 2018 domestic incident.

26-year-old Brandon Lambert allegedly started up with his live-in girlfriend at their home in the 300 block of North Main Street on the evening of August 20th.

The woman stated that Lambert grabbed her hair and held her down on the couch. He eventually let her go and she ran into the bedroom, followed by Lambert. He then asked her where his alcohol was. She told him that she dumped it out, and that angered Lambert, who yelled at her and threw her phone so she couldn’t call for help.

The woman then alleges that Lambert grabs what she believed to be a BB gun from under the mattress and pointed it at her as if he was going to shoot her. She tried to leave but Lambert closed the bedroom door and stood in front of it so she couldn’t leave. Lambert then hit her with the butt of the gun, cutting the back of her head so badly that she needed medical attention. Lambert then allegedly held his hand over her mouth to keep her from yelling.

After things calmed down, Lambert’s girlfriend asked him to take her to the hospital to treat her injury, and she alleges that during the drive things escalated again. She was able to get away from Lambert and went to the Coralville Police Department for help. Lambert still had her vehicle, a 2010 Ford Fusion, and was operating it without her consent.

Authorities issued a warrant for Lambert’s arrest; now 27, he was picked up and booked into the Johnson County Jail on Monday morning. He was charged with False Imprisonment, Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, Operating a Vehicle without Consent, Domestic Abuse Assault with Use of a Weapon, Obstruction of Emergency Communications, and First-Degree Theft. If convicted on all charges, Lambert could be sentenced to up to over 16 years in prison.
