A local transient faces charges that she intentionally defecated in her own pants in order to soil an Iowa City Police squad car.

35-year-old Patricia Hunley was transported by officers to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics just before 11pm Friday for a substance abuse evaluation. While in the waiting room she allegedly became loud and raucous, shouting profanity in the immediate area of children and sick patients, causing them unreasonable duress. Hunley was also found in possession of two open bottles of vodka, which she allegedly tried to drink in the waiting room.

When she was taken into custody, Hunley defected in her own pants in the back of the squad car, which investigators say she did intentionally. She then pulled her pants down in what police say was an attempt to soil the patrol vehicle.

Hunley is charged with Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct and Public Urination or Defection. If convicted on all charges, she faces a maximum of 30 days in jail and various fines.
