IC woman can’t get over ex-boyfriend, is accused of leaving harassing messages
An Iowa City woman who had trouble getting over her ex-boyfriend has been arrested after allegedly harassing the man after their breakup.
Iowa City Police say 51-year-old Kelly Jordan of 3rd Avenue continued to call and text the man multiple times a day after they terminated their relationship. The victim told police the harassment was annoying at first, then became threatening.
Jordan was given three separate harassment warnings on May 18th, May 22nd and June 3rd. Police say Jordan contacted the man again on the night of June 10th and left a voicemail. An officer listened to the voicemail, which told the man he needed to pay Jordan $6,000 or she would “f— up” his job.
Jordan is charged with 3rd Degree Harassment, a Simple Misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of 30 days in jail.
