A Coralville man allegedly made some bad decisions under the influence of alcohol that led to his arrest early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, 33-year-old Martel Horton of 6th Street went to an ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the 1900 block of Broadway Street at approximately 2:15am. She has a no contact order against him, and alleges that Horton threw rocks at her window and wouldn’t leave.
She contacted police and provided a description of Horton that allowed them to find him a few apartments down. He identified himself as Anthony-not Martel-Horton, and the officer took him over to the woman’s apartment where she positively identified him.
Horton was found with an open container and had bloodshot watery eyes with slurred speech. He refused a post arrest PBT and his no-contact order was discovered at that time.
Horton was arrested and charged with public intoxication, harassment of a public officer and violation of the no-contact order. If convicted on the charges Horton could spend sixty days in jail.
