ICCSD tight lipped about firing of teacher

The Iowa City Press Citizen is reporting that a teacher from the Iowa City Community School District has been fired by the school board this week, but officials are keeping information regarding the termination private.
Efforts to learn about the firing have been unsuccessful. School Board President Janet Godwin referred the question to Superintendent Steven Murley,
Murley declined to comment, stating only that personnel records are confidential under state law.
A private hearing was held with the teacher on Monday and the board voted to fire the individual on Tuesday.
