North Liberty Police have arrested a man they say set up a social media account to sell marijuana.

According to arrest records, in May detectives became aware of the account which was believed to be run by 18-year-old Pacific Achiza of Alydar Drive. On Tuesday an undercover officer contacted an unnamed co-defendant via social media and arranged to purchase three concentrated THC vape cartridges for $100. Achiza and the co-defendant were seen getting into a car and driving to the area where the deal was to take place. Police made contact with the two on Hickory Street and recovered five THC vape cartridges and a container of suspected THC concentrate.

Achiza is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2nd Offense. If convicted, he faces a maximum of six years in prison.

Achiza was also arrested early Friday morning for his alleged part in a beating at the North Liberty Rec Center Thursday night. He and 18-year-old Resean Yates of Savannah Drive are accused of beating a man into unconsciousness, then continuing the attack while the man was lying prone on the pavement. They’re each charged with Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, a Class C Felony punishable by a maximum of ten years in prison.
