The Hawkeyes’ perfect kicker and a DB who started for the first time in his career earned honors from the Big Ten this week.

Keith Duncan, who nailed four field goals, including the one that put the Hawks on top for good late in the fourth quarter, was named Special Teams Player of the Week. Duncan’s made all eight of his field goal attempts this year and currently leads the team in scoring.

DJ Johnson, a redshirt freshman from Indianapolis, recorded six solo tackles, two assists, and two pass breakups. He also had been given credit for a sack during the game, but a postgame review changed it to linebacker Kristian Welch. Johnson was named co-freshman of the week, his first Big Ten honor.

The announcement was made Monday by the Big Ten office.

The Hawks, who moved up a spot to #18 in the AP top 25, also announced that their next game, hosting Middle Tennessee State on September 28th, will be an 11 o’clock start. The game will be shown on ESPN2.
