An Oxford woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly sending nude photographs of a person to other individuals without that person’s permission.
According to police, the victim contacted them and alleged that 38-year-old Kara Verplaetse of North Ohio Street sent nude photographs of the victim. Witnesses corroborated the victim’s accusations, stating that they received the photographs via electronic communication on August 8th. The victim stated that no permission was given to disseminate the pictures.
Verplaetse was booked at the Johnson County Jail Saturday afternoon, charged with first degree Harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor. If convicted on the charge, she could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
