In a release from their corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, the grocery chain says they detected unauthorized activity on some of their payment processing systems on July 29th and began in investigation involving law enforcement and cybersecurity experts.

The company stressed that payment card transactions were not involved at checkout lanes in their grocery stores, inside their convenience stores, pharmacies, customer service departments, wine and spirits locations floral departments, or any area that utilizes point-to-point encryption technology.

A check of the website provided by the company shows that cards were compromised in Iowa City at the Market Grille locations on Waterfront Drive, South 1st Avenue and North Dodge Street. Additionally, pay at the pump locations on Stevens Drive and North Dodge were affected. In Coralville, Market Grille locations on 8th Street and Crosspark, and Pay at the Pump on 2nd Steret was also hit.
