An Iowa City man with a history of huffing from aerosol cans at the Iowa City Walmart has been arrested again for the same offense.

Iowa City Police were called to Walmart on Highway 1 West just before 10:15 Tuesday night for a subject huffing cans inside the bottle return room. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Max Wehrle of Michael Street, allegedly attempted to flee from arriving officers. It was also discovered that he had allegedly stolen $22.63 in merchandise.

Wehrle had been issued a criminal trespass warning for Walmart for previously huffing on the property. He’s charged with 3rd Degree Theft, Simulated Public Intoxication and 1st Offense Trespassing. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months in prison.
