Cedar Rapids police say a thief got away with several thousand dollars’ worth of loose diamonds earlier this week.
Officers were dispatched to the Jared’s jewelry store on Collins Road Northeast Tuesday morning. Staff informed them that while interacting with an employee, the suspect reached over the counter and stole the gems. He reportedly left in a vehicle towards the old Sears location.
He’s described as a black male wearing khakis, work boots, and a denim jacket with a fur collar. They estimate that the suspect is about five foot eight and around 175 pounds.
