Iowa City architect Robert Carlson plans to plead guilty to invasion of privacy charges in order to avoid a trial.

The 67-year-old is accused of secretly recording employee Jessica Clark as she pumped breast milk several times over an eight-month period.

A case management status report filed Monday by Carlson’s attorney indicates that the prosecution has made a plea offer, but when asked by the Cedar Rapids Gazette, assistant Johnson County attorney Rachel Zimmerman-Smith said she couldn’t comment on Leon Spies’ report or any plea deal.

The 32-year old Clark discovered a recording device in a room she was using in the Carlson Design Team office to pump breast milk last December and notified police. A search warrant turned up 22 videos of Clark pumping breast milk. She sued Carlson and the Carlson Design Team the following May alleging sexual harassment, sex discrimination, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
