Allegedly fighting with Coralville Police who were trying to arrest him has led to additional charges against a North Liberty man.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on the Coralville Strip just before 11:45 Friday night. The suspect had walked about a block west to Keystone Liquor, where he was found by investigators. The man in question, 46-year-old Bradley McDannald of the Golfview Estates manufactured housing community, allegedly showed multiple signs of intoxication. Police told McDannald he was being detained and could not leave. He allegedly responded by threatening officers and refusing to put his hands behind his back.

McDannald was eventually arrested and taken to the Coralville Police Department, where officers say he refused to get out of the patrol car and told them they would have to pull him out. Once he was pulled out of the car, McDannald allegedly refused to get off the ground, telling the officers they would have to do it themselves.

Once taken to the Johnson County Jail, McDannald was found to have a green, leafy substance consistent with marijuana wrapped in a piece of paper in his possession.

McDannald is charged with Public Intoxication, Interference With Official Acts and Possession of a Controlled Substance – 2nd Offense. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 14 months in jail.
