A West Branch man has been taken into custody after allegedly being caught driving around his field while intoxicated.

Police say 60-year-old William Rung of Johnson Cedar Road Northeast was reported to be driving around the field of his property intoxicated Wednesday around 4:20pm. Upon contact, Rung had unsteady balance, smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.

Rung allegedly refused field sobriety testing and consented to a Datamaster, which showed a blood alcohol content of .202.

Rung was charged with his second OWI, having been convicted in Cedar County of the offense in 2012. If convicted, Rung could be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
