Sioux City woman arrested for biting UIHC worker

An Iowa City woman who is accused of biting a nurse and throwing a crayon at another has been arrested.

According to reports, 23-year-old Tien Nguyen (pron:“win”)of Sioux City was a patient at the UIHC emergency room the evening of May 25th when she allegedly came towards a nurse and bit him on the right arm. Nguyen had to be restrained by hospital staff.

Then the evening of June 11th, Nguyen is accused of getting into an agressive argument with a health care provider at the UIHC and throwing a crayon at them. The crayon hit the victim in the face and neck.

Staff in both cases stated that Nguyen knows right from wrong and has behavior issues.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was booked at the Johnson County Jail Monday morning. She’s charged with assault on persons in certain occupations and assault causing bodily injury. If convicted on both charges, Nguyen could be sentenced to as many as three years in prison.
