An Iowa City man was taken into custody Sunday afternoon after a dispute with his roommate.
Police were called to the 2300 block of Catskill Court for reports of the dispute at around 5:30pm. Upon arrival, they found 27-year-old Nicholas Kuebel walk out of his residence without being prompted and onto the public sidewalk.
Officers report trying to have a rational conversation with Kuebel, but he allegedly just kept yelling and swearing at police and his roommate. Keubel would not allow police to help resolve the issue.
According to police, Kuebel had issues earlier in the day, having been involved in a fight at the Old Capital Mall an hour earlier, and a harassment issue at his former job at about the same time.
Kuebel reportedly remained belligerent, and admitted to drinking but refused a post arrest PBT.
He was charged with public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
