University of Iowa officials have received another report of a sexual assault.

According to a news release from UI Police, the incident occurred on Saturday, Feb. 22 at an eastside residence hall. Indications are the alleged assault was perpetrated by an acquaintance.

This is the third official report of a sexual assault on campus this semester.

UI Police ask that victims of sexual assault call 9-1-1 or contact them directly at (319) 335-5022. Victims also have the option to make a University policy complaint. The Office of the Sexual Misconduct Response Coordinator (OSMRC) (https://osmrc.uiowa.edu/victim-resources/report-problem) is available to explain and answer questions about reporting options.

Victims are also encouraged to seek medical attention immediately, even if there are no obvious physical injuries. A sexual assault examination is free and conducted by a specially-trained nurse. An examination does not obligate the victim to an investigation.
