An Iowa City transient serving time at the Johnson County Jail is accused of attacking another inmate.
Police say that at about 11:45am Wednesday, staff was called to the A-block of the jail for an unknown issue. The victim in the alleged incident says that 20-year-old Jeremiah Neal came into his cell and punched him in the face.
A check of surveillance video reportedly showed Neal leaving the cell and continuing to taunt the victim. The victim allegedly had two bottom teeth chipped or broken during the altercation.
Neal was charged with Assault Causing Serious Injury, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
