The Iowa Democratic Party, citing concerns with the coronavirus pandemic, have announced plans to hold its county conventions remotely.
Party chair Mark Smith tells KGAN that county leaders have been briefed on options on how to hold their conventions and how to receive ballots. They’ve been given options of voting online, by phone, or by mail.
Elections for party district and state delegates, among other party officials, will take place between April 22nd and the end of the month.
The Democratic National Committee has already postponed its national convention to the middle of August because of pandemic concerns.
