CR Police make arrests after shots fired incident Thursday night

Cedar Rapids Police say they’ve arrested suspects allegedly involved in a shots fired incident Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to the area of the 700 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest just after 11pm after multiple calls came in in regard to shots being fired. Several officers responded to investigate the area, while others checked for a vehicle witnesses reported leaving the area.
Less than five minutes later, a vehicle matching witness descriptions was spotted, and an officer attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of Williams Boulevard and 16th Avenue Southwest. Police say the vehicle took off, leading officers on a pursuit on the southwest side of town.
The pursuit ended near Van Buren Drive and 31st Street Southwest when the driver fled the vehicle on foot. He was located by officers a short time later nearby. Other subjects were detained inside the stopped vehicle.
Police have not released any arrest information at this time, but did say no injuries were reported, either from the shooting or during the pursuit.
