A Coralville woman accused of a cash theft at a local fast-food restaurant back in 2017 has been taken into custody and charged.
According to reports, an officer was called to the McDonalds on First Avenue the evening of February 20th, 2017 on report of a theft. The suspect, now 25-year-old Linda Adams-Jacobs of 5th Street was a manager at the restaurant and was responsible for putting deposits into the safe.
Police say Adams-Jacobs was seen on surveillance video taking a prior deposit out of the safe, setting aside $1100, and placing the rest of the money back into the safe. The $1100 was in a plastic bin carried off-camera by Adams-Jacobs. The restaurant said that she had no right or reason to open up another manager’s deposits.
A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was booked into the Johnson County Jail Sunday morning. She’s charged with 2nd degree Theft, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
