An Iowa City man was taken into custody Sunday night after he was accused of threatening neighbors with a gun.
According to arrest reports, 66-year-old Heraclio Garces-Quintana of the Sunrise Village Mobile Home Park was walking on the street in front of his trailer making threats to people at a trailer near his, and took a gun out.
When deputies arrived, they observed Garces-Quintana tuck something into his back near his car. Once they were able to get him detained, they found the gun, which was loaded, on Garces-Quintana’s person, and another loaded magazine in his cargo shorts pocket.
A post-arrest PBT showed a blood-alcohol content of .151.
Garces-Quintana was charged with possession of and carrying a dangerous weapon while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, and public intoxication. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
