Two 19-year-old women were taken into custody Monday night after vandalizing a third woman’s vehicle.
According to police, the incident occurred at 11 North Dodge Street around 920pm. Kayah Crutcher Hicks of Koser Avenue in Iowa City, and Ariyahna Moorehead of Dolton Illinois were having a dispute with another woman, when she locked herself in her own car to avoid them.
Crutcher-Hicks and Moorehead are then accused of kicking and hitting the car, and scraping a key around the entire vehicle. Damage was estimated in excess of $8000.
The two were taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D felony punishable by a prison term for each of up to five years if convicted.
