A fourth suspect who was arrested in Minneapolis for his role in the shooting death of 21 year old Kejuan Winters in Iowa City on April 20th has been brought back to Iowa.

Johnson County Jail records indicate that 32-year-old Patrick Bland was booked into the facility at 12:17am this morning.

According to police, Iowa City First Responders were called to 1960 Broadway for a disturbance, and gunshots were heard on the call. Arriving officers found a man, later identified as Winters, had been shot. He died at the scene.

A man and woman still on scene said a man entered the apartment and fought with Winters before shots were fired.

During an investigation into the incident, Bland was identified as a principal in the homicide. He and two other men were planning to rob Winters, according to a witness statement. Bland’s illegally possessed gun was used in the shooting.

Bland allegedly left his cell phone at the crime scene, and fled the state in a rental car. A warrant was issued for his arrest on May 14th and he was apprehended four days later.

Bail has been set as one million dollars cash only. If convicted on the charge of 1st degree Murder, Bland could be sentenced to life in prison without parole.
