Cedar Rapids Police say they are looking for a man believed to have shot a woman during a domestic incident Sunday morning.
A release from Public Safety Communications Coordinator Greg Buelow says that officers responded to a shooting incident at Oakland Court and Gardens on 1500 Oakland Road Northeast at 8:38am. Once on scene, they found a 23-year-old woman who had sustained a single gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators learned that the woman and a 24-year-old man were engaged in an argument when he shot the woman and fled the scene.
As of early Sunday afternoon, the man remains at large. Police say the incident appears to be domestic in nature. There’s no word on the condition of the woman.
