A Spencer Iowa woman who was being treated at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics has been taken into custody after allegedly acting aggressively towards staff.
Arrest reports indicate that 32-year-old Ashley Jackson was receiving medical care just before 4:20am Tuesday and shoved a member of the staff who was attempting to treat her. Staff told authorities that Jackson had been acting aggressively the whole night.
When interviewed, Jackson allegedly stated that she became upset when staff performed the COVID-19 test on her and she pushed them away.
Jackson was taken into custody and charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, a serious misdemeanor. She could be sentenced to up to a year in jail if convicted.
