Two injured in CR shooting

Two people were injured in a late night shooting in Cedar Rapids.

According to a CRPD news release, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Bever Avenue SE just before 11pm Thursday. Arriving officers located evidence of shots fired in the 300 block of 15th Street SE. A 39-year-old male at the scene had a gunshot wound that did not require medical attention. One residence sustained damage from the gunfire.

Just after 12:30 Friday morning a second victim, a 26-year-old male, walked into St. Luke’s Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound that was reportedly sustained on the 300 block of 15th Street SE.

No arrests have been made, and the accident remains under investigation.
