An Iowa City woman faces several charges after being accused of driving under the influence for the third time.

Police say 55-year-old Dana Easson of Muscatine Avenue was observed on Highway 6 at Lakeside Drive just before 2am Wednesday, driving on an expired plate. The officer was familiar with Easson and knew that her driving privileges were barred, revoked, and suspended.

A traffic stop was initiated, and Easson allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, impaired balance, smelled of ingested alcohol and marijuana, and admitted to drinking. She showed impairment on field testing, and failed a PBT. A Datamaster reading showed her blood-alcohol level at .074 percent, and a urine toxicology is pending.

Easson was charged with third offense OWI, Driving while Barred, and Driving while License Suspended or Revoked. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to a maximum of eight years in prison.
