A Cedar Rapids man faces charges that he stole a Ford Mustang from a North Liberty home.

North Liberty Police say 32-year-old Curtis Larson of 29th Avenue SW took the 2018 Mustang from a residence on Alydar Drive around midnight on August 15th. Approximately ten hours later, Larson was identified as the driver of the vehicle following a break-in in Linn County. Larson was later located in a rural area with the car’s key fob nearby.

Larson is charged with 1st Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

Larson was also wanted for failing to appear at an August 13th court hearing on a 5th Degree Theft charge stemming from a July 16th incident at Menard’s on Naples Avenue. Iowa City Police say Larson emptied an antenna box from a shelf and filled it with $192.94 in merchandise. The incident was caught on security video.
