An Iowa City woman has been taken into custody after an alleged assault on another woman.
The incident occurred just before 5am Wednesday at the 3rd Avenue residence of 38-year-old Keelin Shannon. According to police, Shannon hit the victim in the face with a plastic doll several times, pushed her down the stairs, kicked a fan at her, grabbed her, and dragged her out of the house. Both Shannon and the other female fell on the stairs in front of the residence. The victim complained of pain and had abrasions on her knees.
Shannon was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and was taken into custody. If convicted, she faces up to a year in jail.
