A North Liberty woman who called 911 on herself for being intoxicated was charged with her first OWI.

Police report that 20-year-old Hannah Pruitt of North Jones Boulevard called the emergency number at 220am Wednesday, allegedly saying that she was in her parked car, intoxicated, and didn’t want to hurt anyone. An arriving officer found Pruitt on the 700 block of East Market Street in Iowa City, behind the wheel of a parked Honda with the engine running.

Intially, Pruitt reportedly claimed that the car had never moved, but it was stopped in a lane of traffic on the one-way with no parking on either side. She then allegedly admitted to driving some friends home from the downtown area.

Pruitt reportedly was too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests, and gave a Datamaster reading of .134 percent. She was taken into custody and charged with OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
